interesting japan

this is smart. you'll find these markings at public places to guide the blind.

this is how it looked like almost everywhere. a river a souls rampaging in all directions. crazy huh?

not a twist cap but a pull tab.

pachinko. we really didn't understand how this game was played but it seemed like hundreds were hooked. all we saw were buckets of metal pellets.

just like starbucks...they had these prize games on every block. these must be a hit there coz mostly adults were playing it more so than kids. and i was one of them. lol i lost probably 20 dollars but hey i least i got three small egglike stamps and a stuff animal key chain. lol

and here they are :)

this is the future. everything we need will be on a vending machine. they had soda, juice, hot coffee, tea. ice cream. cigarettes, napkins...just anything you could think of

you even order your food thru the vending machines.....

i have to say....just an observation, as far as the ratio of men to women that were good looking, i'd give it to the girls. there were tons of hot women in japan. sorry guys. but everywhere we went we saw girls that were like car models. hot!!!

cuteness in japan

i woke up one day, turned on the tv and this was what i found :) i think its a dinosaur pooping. lol its kinda cute how japanese kid shows teach toilet training. they were singing then all of a sudden i heard a plunk sound. hahaha i guess he was done :)

guess what these are? candy? nope. napkins? nope. game cards? nope.
condoms!!! how cute.

this was so cute too. they'd play a song and they would tap dance.

her shoes had ears. hahaha

"no, you can't play with mine just 'cos you've broken yours off"

these toys were everywhere. just roaming around freely...like pets :)

meet the fish man. those were real fish in his earrings by the way . oh my gosh, i just noticed he had boobs. a bit freaky huh?

cuteness was all over japan. from the signs on elevators to bill boards, it was everywhere....

ribbit ribbit

i went to the chinese supermarket today to do some veggie shopping. i've been going to this place for about a year now but only today did i notice something. live frogs!!!
adobo anyone? it tastes like chicken?! (not from personal experience).
ribbit ribbit....

folsom street fair

i'm fairly new to san francisco. this year was my first time to experience folsom street fair....and you know what? what an experience! it was overwhelming. the first couple of hours (when i was still sober) was quite a shocker. seeing people that were naked, dressed up (as animals, soldiers, cartoon characters) and in leather, you name it! but after the booze had finally kicked in...it wasn't as bad it seemed (well it still did lol). anyways, it's interesting how some people find "these" sexy and erotic. oh well....like they say...."can't yuck on their yum".

i'm definitely not in tucson anymore....getting spanked out in the streets...naked....with a leather whip.....and for charity?! wow i'm seriously not in arizona anymore :)

opera at the ball park

a hotdog($5.50), garlic fries($6.50), pizza($6.50), soda($4.50) and opera(free). priceless? what a great combo!!!
yes! we watched the samson and delilah opera show at the at&t ball park. it was simulcasted live from the sf opera house. this was actually my first opera, it was such a great experience. besides the fact that i couldn't understand a single word they were singing (kudos for having subtitles), it was intense and emotional. bravo!!!
this time.....i guess it's true when they say..."it ain't over till the fat lady sings".... :p

cha cha cha

guess what we got in the mail? not bills (well... we did), but a gift from a friend of ours in thailand, chris. how cool is that? it's so nice to receive real mail that's not junk from the snail mail nowadays. thanks chris, we'll put it into good use.

twenty twelfth bday

yey!!! another september baby. thanks jason for including us in celebrating your twenty twelfth birthday. happy birthday again :)

happy birthday to me-part2

the day started with lunch at patio filipino in san bruno. we had bangus sisig and all the filipino food you could think of....wow food was really good. the owner was so nice to us that he gave us complimentary wine, and who would say no to that....so the drinking session started early :) after a couple glasses of wine....feeling very relax....they brought a cake out. awww i was really touched. i didn't expect that. you guys are great. i really mean that :) oh thanks for the gift too. anyway...the adventure didn't end there. we went back in the city and ended up at a bar for happy hour (two for one drinks) crazy huh....but anyways you all get the picture. it was so much fun. i remember everyone stumbling on the streets, someone being louder than usual, someone just out of it (looked like they were in la la land) and two people falling of their chairs....while having dinner. lol. hilarious....priceless :)

this was definitely one of the best birthday weekends i have ever had!! i don't really celebrate my birthday but this time i'm glad i did. great times!!! thanks guys :)

man-eater

that's our friend alex in drag as estee longa, ms. gapa first princess, performing "maneater" by Nelly Furtado . great and entertaining performance, good job alex! she also performed a madonna song, don't know the title but she did an excellent job their too. the fans were cool.

arigato

went to japan town.....just thought this structure looked cool that night. don't know what they're called. anyone?

ate at "iroha" restaurant and had their slice beef ramen (called niku, i think). it was pretty good and very filling. i'd give it a thumb and 1/4. did you know that ramen is a japanese dish but it originated in china?

deer meet man....man meet deer (in the parking lot)

don't wind mills look bizarre and weird? they look like alien built machines or like a scene you'd see on the twilight zone...tururu ru tururu(twilight theme song)

light at the end of the tunnel...

half dome

half dome, california, usa. elevation:8836 ft.
i may have done poorly on my wall climbing adventure(see mission cliffs) but hopefully this makes up for it.

this hike is not for people who are scared of heights, which to my surprise, i'm one of them. after a strenuous climb nearly to the top, having only a few stone steps and the rest (the slanted side of the mountain) to go up, i freaked out. realizing that i had to go back down the same way, i started to somewhat get really scared and nervous. i literally freaked out! i think i was about to bust out crying lol (no kidding). i didn't realize my fear of heights was that bad. but jordan coached me and help me make it to the bottom of the cables.
but the mind games didn't end there...seeing that it was a 45 degree climb or maybe more to the top with only cables to hang on, i finally decided to settle with where i was. not at the top but close enough :) jordan did it though. good job!!!

it was painful and very exhuasting. a staircase that never ended, going straight up and straight down. after 11 hrs of hiking, staring at shoes in front of me, looking around at more rocks and trees and the constant sweat pouring off our foreheads. we finally made it. what a great accomplishment. thanks jordan
"i came, i cried and somewhat conquered"

labor day

i had brunch at ella's. i had their famous chicken hash and tried their peach pancakes. it was good. plus their mimosas gave it an extra sweet touch. i'd give it a thumb and 3/4. highly recommended.

jordan and chris (our friend visiting from thailand). he's a lefty like me :) thanks chris for taking time to hang out with us on your busy schedule. ella's was good. till next time

it was a great day to be out. went to the ferry building just a few blocks from our place. very interesting local stuff there, pretty cool. tried my first peet's coffee drink...star bucks has competition.
