shut up and sing

just watched these movies over the weekend. they were pretty good. joy luck club-gives you a good sense of how asian traditions and personalities are.-two thumbs. mean girls- a very teen movie, entertaining and witty. it reminds us on how cruel we can all be.-a thumb and a half. shut up and sing- a really interesting documentary. its funny how sometimes we can all be close minded and so blind sighted. all i can say is...we should all have freedom to expressl....and world peace.-two thumbs up.

rammaytush

i was walking on king st and saw these on the sidewalks.....
for more than 1500 years native people of mission bay lived here and spoke a language called rammaytush. translated words were embedded on the pavement for us to remember how they communicated before....how interesting....

we saw this ad on a bus stop, scary huh? be prepared!

sf zoo

went to the zoo last weekend. it was pretty interesting. last time i've been to one was about 6 years ago in hawaii.
it was nice and surprisingly less smelly :)

how cute....forgot what it was called though. he's like a cute baby with a mustache. lol

polar bears in sf. they must be bored. but cool fact....we saw their poop :) it pretty small compared to their size hahaha.

did you know that you could camp in the zoo? the animals don't bite :)

did you know this about koalas? their pouch opens toward the back and has two nipples inside. cute?

saw my cousin...

this experience was brought to you by API :)

japan trip 1

hajimemashite!!!
we visited japan for 9 days. we went to tokyo, kyoto, osaka and narita. here are some pictures of our adventure....

the harajuku girls. these are girls that are into fashion and dress up in different styles. some anime and some....hmmm...don't even know what they are :)

more harajuku girls...this is where gwen stefani's back up dancers were inspired from...i think.

best meal in japan. lol the choco-cro. its a chocolate bar wrapped in a croissant. 150 yen!!!

the best in japan for me was the onsen, its a hot spring. it was relaxing and chill. the minerals, the hot water, and the ambiance....ahhh it was great.
funny story though...since we couldn't read kanji we accidentally entered the womens the locker room. hilarious....

went to temples...
all these tablets have wishes written on them and burnt later on at a ceremony for them to come true...

night lights in shinjuku...

met up with tashi and kuni for dinner. the food, the sake and the beer....good times.
it was nice meeting and hanging out with you guys.

view from the room...

we should all get this for our bathrooms. it's awesome. it warms your rear, it deodorizes, and the best part...it cleans your a$$. how cool is that? one of the best things in japan :)

tokyo at night....

japan trip 2

the bullet train....hella fast

geishas!! yes they're real and still out there. lol
we saw a bunch of them just walking thru these streets. kinda felt bad for them coz they were probably going about with their regular lives and all these tourists like myself were taking pictures. talk about paparazzi madness...

saw a show bout different japanese arts and cultures

the room

the view again...osaka

live eels or anchovies for sale....not really sure anymore....anyone?

dunno what this was really bout but i thought it would be cool on my blog :)

a temple in narita

as we departed japan, we had left this behind at the temple....hope they come true...
overall it was fun to travel to japan. experiencing their culture, eating authentic food (cheap too), seeing all these cool places and things. it was a great experience. it wasn't the relaxing vacation that i hoped for, (sitting on the beach) coz it was exhausting going around, but i'm glad we went.
i had great company so thats all that mattered...
dumo arigato sai mas...

interesting japan

this is smart. you'll find these markings at public places to guide the blind.

this is how it looked like almost everywhere. a river a souls rampaging in all directions. crazy huh?

not a twist cap but a pull tab.

pachinko. we really didn't understand how this game was played but it seemed like hundreds were hooked. all we saw were buckets of metal pellets.

just like starbucks...they had these prize games on every block. these must be a hit there coz mostly adults were playing it more so than kids. and i was one of them. lol i lost probably 20 dollars but hey i least i got three small egglike stamps and a stuff animal key chain. lol

and here they are :)

this is the future. everything we need will be on a vending machine. they had soda, juice, hot coffee, tea. ice cream. cigarettes, napkins...just anything you could think of

you even order your food thru the vending machines.....

i have to say....just an observation, as far as the ratio of men to women that were good looking, i'd give it to the girls. there were tons of hot women in japan. sorry guys. but everywhere we went we saw girls that were like car models. hot!!!

cuteness in japan

i woke up one day, turned on the tv and this was what i found :) i think its a dinosaur pooping. lol its kinda cute how japanese kid shows teach toilet training. they were singing then all of a sudden i heard a plunk sound. hahaha i guess he was done :)

guess what these are? candy? nope. napkins? nope. game cards? nope.
condoms!!! how cute.

this was so cute too. they'd play a song and they would tap dance.

her shoes had ears. hahaha

"no, you can't play with mine just 'cos you've broken yours off"

these toys were everywhere. just roaming around freely...like pets :)

meet the fish man. those were real fish in his earrings by the way . oh my gosh, i just noticed he had boobs. a bit freaky huh?

cuteness was all over japan. from the signs on elevators to bill boards, it was everywhere....
