just watched these movies over the weekend. they were pretty good. joy luck club-gives you a good sense of how asian traditions and personalities are.-two thumbs. mean girls- a very teen movie, entertaining and witty. it reminds us on how cruel we can all be.-a thumb and a half. shut up and sing- a really interesting documentary. its funny how sometimes we can all be close minded and so blind sighted. all i can say is...we should all have freedom to expressl....and world peace.-two thumbs up.Monday, November 12, 2007

Haven't seen "Shut Up and Sing" but the other two were very good movies. I remember watching "Joy Luck Club" with my boyfriend at the time at the old Regency theatre on Van Ness (now an event space). Very big crowd and it was such a breakthrough movie at the time: the first American mainstream movie with an all-Asian American cast.
